Seeing Earth from Space

Seeing Earth From Space
Imagine that you could stand on top of the Empire State Building. Would the buildings, cars, and people below look much smaller? Would you be able to see more of the city from up high? Right! The higher you go the more you can see and the smaller things on the ground look.

Click here to use what you know about aerial- (bird's eye) and ground-level (worm's eye) views. See if you can tell which is which.

After visiting the site, choose a place such as an island, a forest, a lake, or a city. Write a paragraph describing how the place would look in a worm's eye view, a bird's eye view, and from a satellite orbiting the Earth. Draw an illustration of each view. Share your paragraph and illustration with classmates.
